For the first time in school history, volleyball and cross country teams brought home big victories in the state tournaments.
Under the leadership of Coach Heath Kufahl, the Lady Patriots defeated Choteau-Mazie in a three-set sweep in the quarterfinal game before falling to Casidy in the semi-finals. Although the girls' volleyball program has experienced success over the years, it is the first time any team has made it past the first round of the tournament. Hats off to Coach Kufahl and the Lady Patriots for an outstanding season and an impressive showing!
In addition to volleyball, the boys and girls cross country teams led by Clay Schubert and Jamie Allision also medaled at the state tournament for the first time after winning the regional championships in Henryetta. While the girls have competed in the state tournament twice now, the boys made their team debut with five runners, the number required to compete as a team. The future is looking bright for both cross country teams at Southwest Covenant.

More than 1,000 volunteers gathered on Friday, November 3rd for the 18th annual Patriot Project, Southwest Covenant's annual service project and fundraiser. Students, families, and staff spent the day at Yukon's city parks, Savannah Station's equine therapy ranch, and the City Center inner-city ministry.
The Patriot Project also raised over $300K, ten percent of which it donated to Faith Works of the Inner City, a local non-profit ministry designed to meet the educational, spiritual, and physical needs of inner city children and their families.
“This is a great opportunity for our students to serve together as they impact our community in a positive way,” SWCS Headmaster Steve Lessman said. “It's a small example of what we want to equip our students to do for life - to influence their communities for good and to serve others.”
